I think we have our Christmas card picture for next year! This trip to Lake Arrowhead was only so fun because I had my (somewhat) crazy family to spend it with. My parents never fail to make us laugh, my aunt and uncle can cook like no other, and my cousins are well, just complete and utter nut-heads (in the smartest way possible). Also, what better time to talk about my family than on my twin cousins' birthday. Happy 22nd Birthday Elle and Mandy! Aside from the time we spent taking pictures out in the snow, we also had a nice walk down the road and admired all the beautiful winter wonderland houses. They had such a nice cabin-y feel to them, and I just wanted to snuggle up with my wearable blanket (no, it is not a snuggie) and sit by the fireplace, slowly roasting away. However, that fantasy was far from reality as we engaged in a snow fight at the end of this pleasant walk, and I ended up with snow down my shirt (which quickly turned into ice cold water). Oddly enough, I loved every minute of it.

When I read this comment, I nearly jumped out of my seat! Sarah, you are by far my favorite blogger, and you are truly my inspiration. I'm an only child, but if I had to choose an older sister, it would definitely be you. You not only have an immaculate sense of style, but you also have an incredible drive and work ethic (I was just reading your 'About Me' section, and my jaw nearly dropped.) It means the world to me that you would say something like that, and I can't wait for all the posts I can read on your blog this year :) Love you!
ReplyDeleteYes, Lake Arrowhead was so much fun, and I hope I can visit again in the future! Thank you :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Paige! No, I am so with you. I am a little nosy butt myself, and I love finding out what everyone is up to :) It means the world to me that you like my writing style because the only thing I try to convey is my actual personality! I am an extremely sassy and bubbly person, as my friends would like to say, and all I could hope for is my fellow bloggers to see me as just that :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! I am always so flattered when someone says something nice about my photography because I definitely don't consider myself an expert in that department :) And yes, it was so much fun to spend time with my family in Arrowhead!
ReplyDeleteLake Arrowhead looks so picturesque! That's so nice that you were able to spend some time with your family before getting back to the grind. Hope 2015 is treating you well!

It really was, especially with all the snow! 2015 has been great so far, and I can't wait to see what is to come :) I hope you'll have a great year as well!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely love spending some quality time with my family :) My cousin's boyfriend actually bought her that hat haha!
ReplyDeleteIt really was a great location! We had a nice view of the lake, and the neighborhood was quiet yet picturesque. I hadn't seen snow in years either, but I was lucky enough to be there while it was snowing :) Happy New Year to you too!

ReplyDeleteHappy new year!! Looks like so much fun to have snow fights, the only "snow"
ReplyDeletewe had in the Netherlands lasted one day and was this yucky half-melted ice thing :C Lovely photos and I like your scarf!
Happy New Year to you too, Olivia! This was the first time I have seen snow in quite a few years as the only "snow" I get here is that fake stuff from a machine :| The scarf is actually my mom's, but I love to "borrow" from her from time to time :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Amy! I just took a peek at your blog, and I'm absolutely obsessed. Gorgeous pictures. Excuse my stalking(following) you on almost every social media site. I promise I'm the good creeper type :) xx
ReplyDeleteGreat photos, love the snow! Would you like to follow each other on GFC?! Let me know and follow me on my blog, I will follow you right back on both GFC and Bloglovin!

ReplyDeleteAgreed! :)

We just got snow here in Michigan and it's so beautiful to look at :)
ReplyDeleteThat snow looks so festive! We didn't have any here, but I don't mind. Dealing with the slush and the reality of it all sort of dampens the sparkle. PS. Love your cousin's panda hat!

Thanks Lisa! Just checked out your blog and followed :) xx
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lily! The snow was so much fun as I rarely get to see it :)
ReplyDeleteOh my, snow is so much fun to play with, but I don't know if I would be able to shovel out the driveway before school! Only had to do it for a day and it was already so tiring haha :)
ReplyDeleteI agree, snow is fun to look and play with, but it gets to be a pain when you have to clear out the snow on your car before school or work :| It's also quite scary to drive in when the water freezes to ice!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you and your family had a lot of fun! The houses look so pretty as well, I've always loved how rustic and industrial styles go so well together. It's been years since I've been in a snow fight, the last thing that was closest to one was when one of my friends pushed me into a snow bank last winter, haha!

The houses were one of my favorite things to look at as I as taking a walk down the road :) Sadly where I live, we don't get snow, so I've never gotten to play in the snow with my friends. Hopefully one day I will though! (However, I'm not sure if getting pushed into a snow bank is considered fun to most pepole, haha!)
ReplyDeleteDamn, must've been nice to get away for the holidays! (AND A WHITE CHRISTMAS TOO? VERY NICE) My family and I don't really do anything for the holidays, since my brother and I are all grown up now (wow, we sound miserable ._.) Also, as I get older, the more appealing a snuggie/slanket becomes to me. MAXIMUM COMFORT AND COZINESS. I FINALLY UNDERSTAND INFOMERCIALS!
ReplyDeleteWe actually went away after Christmas but shhh, it's nice for everyone to think that I had a white Christmas ;) Ok, here's my take on why everyone needs a wearable blanket. Basically, you're so cold that not even ten layers of clothes can keep you warm, so you want to drag your blanket out of bed and walk around the house but that poses the problem that your parents will yell at you for bringing your blanket downstairs and getting it dirty....*insert the invention of the snuggie/slanket* all problems vanish, your bed comforter doesn't get dirty, and you can live peacefully as a warm person.
ReplyDeleteTHE LIES!!! (jks)
ReplyDeleteI feel ya, I feel ya. I'm pretty sure people have developed kidney stones and starved to death (not literally)because they were unable to leave their blanket burrito positions.
I'm pretty sure this is why those blanket scarves were invented too.
I'm pretty tired of the snow in my area, cause it gets slightly warmer so it melts but the next day is back to freezing temps so it gets pretty icy at times. I'm considering moving to California when I'm done school, I don't like super cold weather - but I have a feeling I'll miss the snow once I don't see it for a while.
ReplyDeleteThe ice is definitely not too pleasant to drive on, and it was a bit scary at times as we were going down the mountain! I think Southern California is great in the sense that it's warm pretty much all year round, and if you ever miss the snow, the mountains are only a bit over an hour away :) I know one college in Southern California that has trips where they visit the beach and the mountains in the same day!
ReplyDeleteThis was such a cute post! I'm so glad you had a lovely time with your family over the holidays. I also had no idea there was snow so close to LA!
ReplyDeleteXO Camey
Aww, thank you-haha! Lake Arrowhead is about an hour and a half away from LA, so definitely pretty close. I visited a college a few months ago, and since they're in Southern California, they have a trip where they go to the beach and the snow on the same day! One of the great perks of living in SoCal :)
